We manufacture and supply transient surge protectors/suppressors/arrestors for a variety of industrial applications.
A transient surge protector is a device which is typically used to protect electronic equipment from damage or destruction caused by transient voltages and surge currents. These destructive transients most often attack equipment through power input lines, signal input and output lines, data lines, and any other wire coming into or going out of a chassis containing electronics.
We provide highly cost effective solutions with the following products:
INSTRUMENTATION SURGE PROTECTOR - CURRENT LOOP
INSTRUMENTATION SURGE PROTECTOR - VOLTAGE LOOP

The TSP-WG4(WG6)-20MA-xxV-01 (03) are a line of transient surge protection devices which are used in one wire unipolar (bipolar) systems. These devices are designed to provide protection for remote transducers and their associated data acquisition system.
Electronic equipment is extremely susceptible to transient voltages and surge currents due to its relatively fragile semiconductor construction. A current loop system usually requires a remotely located transducer. This results in a transmission wire being connected between the transducer and the data acquisition system, acting as the signal carrier as well as the transient voltage and surge current carrier.
The TSP-WG4(WG6)-20MA-xxV-01(03) transient surge protection devices have a line side which is connected to the transmission wire, and a protected side which connects to the sensitive equipment. These surge protectors provide three stages of protection for the signal path. The WG6 version has two stages of protection for the power path while the WG4 version does not support a power path. The input of the module includes an inductor which slows down the rise time of the transients and provides an impedance mismatch resulting in some of the transient's energy being reflected back down the supply lines. The second stage of protection is in the form of TRANZORB's which provide tight voltage clamping. The third stage of protection is then provided by MOV's which suppress large surge currents and clamp the larger spikes. All destructive voltages and currents are absorbed into an EARTH connection. This EARTH connection must go to a proper earth ground point using low impedance heavy gauge wire.

The TSP-WG6-xxxVAC-10A-01 is a line of transient surge protection devices which are used in single phase AC supply voltage applications. These devices are designed to provide protection for electronic equipment requiring connection to an AC supply.
Electronic equipment is extremely susceptible to transient voltages and surge currents due to its relatively fragile semiconductor construction. AC supply lines, by their very nature of being a power carrier, interconnect industrial, commercial, and residential areas, buildings, and equipment. Every load being switched on or off creates some sort of electrical noise and voltage fluctuation. These transients and surges are then carried through the supply lines to all of the other loads in the vicinity. As the transients and surges increase in level, their destructive power is carried further in distance thereby reaching more sensitive electronic equipment. Every electronic device connected to the AC supply lines should have protection against these transient voltages and surge currents to ensure a longer service life.
The TSP-WG6-xxxVAC-10A-01 transient surge protection devices have three stages of protection. The modules have a line side which is connected to the AC supply LIVE and NEUTRAL, and a protected side which connects to the equipment that is to be protected. The input of the module includes an inductor which slows down the rise time of the transients and provides an impedance mismatch resulting in some of the transient's energy being reflected back down the supply lines. The second stage of protection is then provided by a MOV and a thermal fuse. The MOV suppresses large surge currents and clamps the voltage spikes that are just above the maximum supply tolerance level. Once the second stage MOV reaches the end of its useful life, the thermal fuse will blow, the MOV will be removed from the circuit, and the green LED will be extinguished. This MOV accounts for approximately 12% of the surge protector's total protection capacity. The third stage of protection provides the remaining 88% of protection capacity in the form of an array of MOV's. The LIVE and NEUTRAL are protected individually to EARTH as well as together in a differential mode. All destructive voltages and currents are absorbed into an EARTH connection. This EARTH connection must go to a proper earth ground point using low impedance heavy gauge wire. The second stage LED provides a convenient way to monitor the condition of the surge protector. Once the LED is not illuminated, it is a good time to replace the module. However, as explained above, at no time is the connected equipment ever unprotected.
In choosing a transient surge protector, consult the selection chart for the appropriate order number, availability, and pricing information.
